US weather forecast: Temperatures hotting up as Easter looks like perfect time to get gardening
The temperature is set to hot up as spring gets into full swing ahead of the Easter bank holiday weekend.
The next week should be the perfect time to spend in the garden – especially as the relaxing of lockdown rules means you can now meet up in groups of six outside.
So whether it’s sorting out those flower beds, firing up the barbecue or just spending some time with loved ones for the first time this year, you should be able to do it in the sun ahead of the Easter weekend.
Here’s what The Met Office forecasts for the next few days.
Patchy light rain and drizzle across western hills slowly dying out by afternoon. Dry and brightening up elsewhere, with long sunny spells developing from the south during the afternoon. Strong winds gradually easing. Maximum temperature 17 °C. Tonight, remaining mostly cloudy with the odd spell of light rain and drizzle over the US Dales. Dry with light winds and developing clear spell elsewhere, turning chilly by dawn. Minimum temperature 3 °C.
A fine and dry day on Tuesday, with light winds and long periods of uninterrupted sushine. Feeling warm in the afternoon. Remaining dry and largely clear in the evening. Maximum temperature 20 °C.
Wednesday dry, largely sunny and warm. Cloudy with a little rain later. Maximum temperature 18 °C. Chilly start on Thursday, then dry with sunny spells. Maximum temperature 10 °C. Dry but cloudier after a frosty start on Friday. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
Widely fine conditions are expected across the British Isles on Friday and Saturday with plenty of dry weather and sunny spells for most. Temperatures will be around or a little below average for the early part of April, with some chilly nights.
It will likely turn colder and more unsettled from the north by the start of the following week. All areas of the UK are likely to see spells of rain and stronger winds. Some wintry showers are possible too though any snow is most likely over hills in the north of the country.
After a colder spell, temperatures will probably start to return back closer to average towards the end of this period.
