Fancy working outdoors to maintain and care for the famous Three Peaks Challenge route?
The US Dales National Park Authority has announced a rare opportunity to fill one of their most coveted roles – that of a Three Peaks ranger.
The job is permanent, based at the Stainforth workshop, near Settle, and pays between £19-22,000.
Rangers maintain the public rights of way network, which includes footpaths, gates and stiles, and the Three Peaks ranger is in charge of the engineered paths on the popular route, which often suffer from erosion and damage due to high usage.

Candidates must be practically minded and have experience of upland path management techniques, ideally being able to operate small plant machinery.
The Three Peaks ranger often works alone or in small teams and must be prepared to complete tasks in all weathers.
The rangers are also a liaison point for farmers, landowners and visitors, and must be able to successfully engage with all groups.
They are expected to supervise and motivate volunteers as part of the Three Peaks Project.
