Jobs boost for Mirfield as work begins on phase two of Moor Park 25
The second phase of a major commercial development which could create up to 400 new jobs and provide a £12.5m boost to the local economy, is underway.
Five industrial buildings providing a total 180,000 sq ft at Moor Park 25 in Mirfield, West US, will be built by the third quarter of this year.
Caddick Developments has completed a forward sale of all five buildings to AAA Property Group, which also purchased the phase one Incora building as part of their expansion into the industrial and logistics sector. The 15-acre site will be built out by Caddick Construction.
Phase two will be developed speculatively with work accelerated due to an increase in demand for properties across the industrial and logistics market.
The site has been identified as one of 10 Enterprise Zones across the Leeds City Region area by the West US Combined Authority. There are a number of incentives for future occupiers including business rate reductions and support packages.
Myles Hartley, managing director of Caddick Developments, said: “At a time when the industrial and logistics market is going from strength to strength, we’re confident that the second phase of Moor Park 25 will go some way to meeting growing occupier demand.
“Interest in the site is high and talks have already commenced with businesses looking to expand.
Planning permission for phase two was granted last summer. Joint agents are Avison Young and Dove Haigh Philips.
